The blanks can be filled as follows:

(i) Neither this suit nor those shirts belong to me.

(ii) You as well as I am responsible for our losses.

(iii) A black and white dog has fallen into the pit outside.

(iv) Either you or Gaurav is responsible for this mistake.

(v) Every boy and every girl were present in the class.

  • In the first sentence, as shirts is plural hence we use singular form of the word belong.
  • In the second sentence, as I is mentioned hence we will use 'am' with it.
  • In the third sentence, has will be used.
  • In the fourth sentence, as it would be one of the two, hence we use is.
  • In the fourth sentence, as there are more than one boy and girl, hence were will be used.
