Rivers are considered holy in India but they are hardly treated with respect. All kinds of dust and filth find their way into the rivers. If we have to treat and purify the water for drinking it, how can the fish survive in the waters. Every year, river Gomti a death bed for thousands of fish because the water released in the reservoir upstream carries effluents from the neighbouring industries.
