To act on this distinction and feel good when you do the right thing but guilty when you do the wrong thing.
At teenage the teens experience cognitive and intellectual development.
At this point they just don't what they have been told is right or wrong.
They do what is right based on the principles they have set for their lives.
They are able to make decisions on their own keeping in mind that each decision has a consequence.
