Solution :-

→ 1/2 (sin²60°) - cos30°

→ 1/2 ( √3/2 )² - √3/2 (°.° sin60° = √3/2 = cos30°)

→ 1/2(√3)²/2² - √3/2

→ 1/2[ 3/4 ] - √3/2

→ 3/8 - √3/2

→ (3 - 6√3)/8

→ [3(1 - 2√3)]/8

.°. 1/2 sin²60° - cos30° = 3(1-23)/8

 \rm  \frac{1}{2}  { \sin}^{2} 60 -  \cos30

 \rm =  \frac{1}{2}  {( \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}) }^{2}  -  \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}

 \rm =  \frac{3}{8}  -  \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}

 \rm =  \frac{3 - 4 \sqrt{3} }{8}
