Step-by-step explanation:

All this are fractions, 1/2+1/4+1/8;

To get the sum of any fractions we first get the Least Common Denominator(L.C.M), I assume you know how to get that. in this case it is 8.

Now take the L.C.M as your denominator then, divide it by each denominator of every fraction and multiply the answer you get by the numerator .

so this gives 8/2= 4(First fraction 1/2). multiply 4 by the numerator which is 1. that gives 4*1=4.

do the same for the rest of the fractions, 8/4=2(second fraction 1/4), 2*1=2.

8/8=1(Third fraction 1/8), 1*1=1.

Now add them, 4+2+1=7;

Now take the answer divide it by the L.C.M, 7/8

you can leave it as a fraction or change it into the decimal by directly dividing 7 by 8, which gives 0.875.
