Answer:

let two numbers are x and y

x+y=27

x=27-y

x×y=187

put x=27-y

(27-y)y=187

27y-y2-187=0

y2-27y+187=0

y2-11y-17y+187=0

y(y-11)-17(y-11)=0

(y-11)(y-17)

y=11,17

Let one number be = x

And other number = ( 27 - x )

According to the problem product = 182

x ( 27 - x ) = 182

27x - x² = 182

27x - x² - 182 = 0

x² - 27x + 182 = 0 [ change the sign ]

x² - 14x - 13x + 182 = 0

x ( x - 14 ) - 13 ( x - 14 ) = 0

( x - 14 ) ( x - 13 ) = 0

So x - 14 = 0 And x - 13 = 0

There fore x = 14 and x = 13
