Let the smallest number be x

The other two numbers are (x + 1) and (x + 2)

Solve x:

Sum of the 1st and 2nd is 3 more than the 3rd:

x + (x + 1) = (x + 3) + 3

x + x + 1 = x + 3 + 3

2x + 1 = x + 6

x = 5

Find the numbers:

1st number = x = 5

2nd number = x + 1 = 5 + 1 = 6

3rd number = x + 2 = 5 + 2 = 7

Answer: The numbers are 5, 6 an 7.
