Let the 3 consecutive even numbers be "x-2", "x", "x+2".

Consecutive Even or Odd numbers, differ by 2, for eg: 2, 4(= 2+2), 6(= 4+2).
OR
These numbers, (2, 4, 6) can also be written as, (4-2), 4, (4+2).

So, now According to Question:
7×(middle number) = 4×(other 2) - 42
Now, solve it.
7×(x) = 4×[(x-2) + (x+2)]

Thankyou!!!
