$\frac{ - ( - 1) \frac{ + }{ - } \sqrt{ {( - 1)}^{2} - 4 \times 3 \times ( - 4) } }{2 \times 3}$

By calculating we get,

$\frac{1 \frac{ + }{ - } \sqrt{1 + 48} }{6}$

So we get,

$\frac{1 \frac{ + }{ - } \sqrt{49} }{6}$

So,

$\frac{1 + 7}{6 \:} \: \: \: or \: \frac{1 - 7}{6}$

Lastly answer is

$\frac{8}{6} = \frac{4}{3 } \: or \: \frac{ - 6}{6 } = - 1$

So the answers are

$\frac{4}{3} \: \: or \: - 1$
