Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

5x-4y = 17

To find :-

Find four solutions of the equation ?

Solution :-

Given equation is 5x-4y = 17 -------(1)

I) Put x = 0 in (1) then

=> 5(0) -4y = 17

=> 0-4y = 17

=> -4y = 17

=> y = 17/-4

=> y = -17/4

The solution = (0,-17/4)

II) put y = 0 in (1) then

=> 5x-4(0) = 17

=> 5x-0 = 17

=> 5x = 17

=> x = 17/5

The solution = (17/5,0)

I) Put x = 1 in (1) then

=> 5(1) -4y = 17

=> 5-4y = 17

=> -4y = 17-5

=>-4 y = 12

=> y = 12/-4

=> y = -3

The solution = (1,3)

II) put y = 2 in (1) then

=> 5x-4(2) = 17

=> 5x-8 = 17

=> 5x = 17+8

=> 5x = 25

=> x = 25/5

=> x = 5

The solution = (5,2)

Answer :-

The four different solutions for the given equation are (0,-17/4),(17/5,0), (1,3),(5,2)
