\huge\boxed{\fcolorbox{orange}{yellow}{Answer}}

\boxed{\fcolorbox{pink}{purple}{Given:}}Two numbers 1 and 2

\boxed{\fcolorbox{blue}{pink}{To find:}}We need to find a rational number between 1 and 2

\boxed{\fcolorbox{red}{yellow}{Solution:}} Let the two given numbers be a and b respectively a= 1 and b=2

We know that the rational number between a and b is given by (a + b)/2

So the rational number between 1 and 2 = (1+2)/2 = 3/2

Then, Rational number between 1 and 3/2 =[1+(3/2)]/2 = 5/4

Then Rational number between 1 and 5/4 =[1+(5/4)]/2 = 9/8

Then Rational number between 3/2 and 2 =[(3/2) + 2]/2 = 7/4

Then Rational number between 7/4 and 2 =[(7/4) + 2]/2 = 15/8 Hence the five rational numbers between 1 and 2 are 3/2, 5/4, 7/4, 9/8, and 15/8

✌✌✌Hope it will help you ☺☺☺

Formula:-

Rational numbers between any two numbers = ½(r + s)

1st: ½(1 + 2) = 3/2

2nd: ½(3/2 + 1) = ½(5/2) = 5/4

3rd: ½(3/2 + 2) = ½(7/2) = 7/4

4th: ½(5/4 + 1) = 9/8

5th: ½(2 + 5/4) = ½(13/4) = 13/8

ALTER:-

Find equivalent forms of the numbers by multiplying certain rational numbers in the numerator and also in the denominator.

For e.g., find a rational number 3 and 4.

3/1 = (3 × 1000)/(1 × 1000) = 3000/1000

4/1 = (4 × 1000)/(1 × 1000) = 4000/1000

{Do not cancel the final form}

∵ 3001, 3002, ..., 3999 are between 3000 and 4000,

∴ Rational numbers :-

  • 3001/1000 = 3.001,
  • 3002/1000 = 3.002, and so on.
