Good morning Selvi,

Could you verify that the two values are √5/7 and 4/9. I don't think it makes sense any other way.

√5/7 < x < 4/9

square everything

5/49 < x2 < 16/81

get a common denominator for the endvalues so we can compare them

405/3969 < x2 < 784/3969

Choose 5 numbers between 405 and 784 that are perfect squares.

x2 = 441/3969, 484/3969, 529/3969, 576/3969, 625/3969

x = 21/63 ( which reduces to 1/3), 22/63, 23/63, 24/63, 65/63

These are 5 possible answers

The correct answer is  \frac{271}{630},\frac{272}{630}, \frac{273}{630},\frac{274}{630},\frac{275}{630}.

Given: Range in which number are to be find, \frac{3}{7} to \frac{4}{9}.

To Find: 5 rational numbers between \frac{3}{7} and  \frac{4}{9}.

Solution:

So, we have to make the denominators of both the rational numbers same.

So, LCM of 7 and 9 is 63.

Now, to make denominator same we need to multiply both num and den by 9.

\frac{3*9}{7*9} =\frac{27}{63}

Now, to make denominator same we need to multiply both num and den by 7.

\frac{4*7}{9*7} =\frac{28}{63}

Now, between \frac{27}{63} and \frac{28}{63}.

Now as between these both finding numbers is difficult so we will multiply both the fraction by 10. As after multiplying there will be no change in fractions.

\frac{27*10}{63*10} =\frac{270}{630}

\frac{28*10}{63*10} =\frac{280}{630}

Hence, we can clearly see that numbers between these two are:

\frac{271}{630},\frac{272}{630},  \frac{273}{630},\frac{274}{630},\frac{275}{630}.
