Given :

  • Acceleration ( a ) = 5 km / hr²

To Find :

  • Acceleration in CGS unit

Solution :

  • In CGS system the distance is measured in Centimetre and time is measured in second
  • Unit of acceleration in CGS system is cm / s²

 \tt1 \: km = 1 \times  {10}^{5}  \: cm \\  \\  \tt5 \: km = 5 \times  {10}^{5}  \: cm \\  \\  \tt 1 hr = 3.6 \times{10}^{3} \:sec \\  \\ \tt a =  \dfrac{5 \times  {10}^{5} }{3.6 \times  {10}^{3}  }  \\  \\  \tt a =  \frac{5 \times  {10}^{2} }{3.6}   \\  \\  \tt a = 138.88  \: cm \: {s}^{ - 2} \\ \\ \underline{\tt \green{ Acceleration \: of \: body \: is \: 138.88  \: cm \: {s}^{ - 2}}}
