Step-by-step explanation:

QUESTION ASKED ;

Find the value of a and b.

a - b = 3

2a + 3b = 36

METHOD TO DO :

It can be solve by many way,

  • Elimination method
  • Substitution method

BY USING SUBSTITUTION METHOD ;

a - b = 3

a = 3 + b .......1st equation

2a + 3b = 36 ........2nd equation,

By substituting the value of a in 2nd equation,

2( 3 + b) + 3b = 36

6 + 2b + 3b = 36

6 + 5b = 36

5b = 36 - 6

5b = 30

b = 30/5

b = 6

Now , substituting the value of b in equation 1st,

a - 6 = 3

a = 6 + 3

a = 9

Hence,

A = 9 and B = 6 answer
