Answer:

a=2,b=6 and a=-2,b=-6

Explanation:

We are given that ab i=3a-b+12 i

We have to find the value of a and b

ab i= 3a-b+12 i

Comparing on both sides then we get

ab=12 and 3a-b=0

3a-b=0

3a=b

 a=\frac{b}{3}

Substitute the value of a then we get

 \frac{b}{3}\times b=12

 b^2=36[/txe]</p><p>[tex]b^2=\sqrt{36}

b=\pm6

When b=6 then a=\frac{6}{3}=2

When b=-6 then  a=\frac{-6}{3}=-2

Answer a=2,b=6 and a=-2,b=-6
