since it is in A.P.
therefore the common difference between two consecutive terms will be same.
so, a+b-12 = b-2a
    ⇒3a = 12
   ⇒a=4
also, a+b-12= 2a-(a+b)
     ⇒    b-8=4-b
     ⇒    2b=12
    ⇒     b=6

a=4 and b=6 answer can be found using the common difference relating each terms of the a.p
