Formula for the sum of any 3 consecutive odd numbers is :-

  • (2x+1)+(2x+3)+(2x+5)

Explanation :-

We took 2x and confirmed that the number is even, but then we added an odd number and assured that the outcome would be odd.

  • Eg. 2x + 1 = (an odd number) Let x be 2.
  • 2 × 2 + 1 = 4 + 1 = 5

  • Now, let x be 3. 2x + 1
  • 2 × 3 + 1 = 6 + 7 = 7

Both times, the outcome was an odd number no matter whether x was even or odd. Hence, we can make as many consecutive odd numbers by (2x+1), (2x+3), (2x+5), (2x+7) and so on...
