1/2×(1/2+1/4)=1/2×3/4=3/8

So A is in between 1/4 and 1/2

So to find the the middle point (in your case its A) you need to add the extreme points which is 1/4 and 1/2 and then divide it by 2


The above statement looke like this -

1/4\frac{1/4 + 1/2}{2}

Hence simplifying we get

\frac{6/8}{2}

3/8
