Given :

Polynomial is : ax^2 + ( a - 4 ) x + 3

One zero is reciprocal of the other zero .

To find :

The value of a .

Solution :

Let one zero of the polynomial be p .

then, other zero will be 1/p .

now ,

p * 1/p = 3 / a

=> 1 = 3 / a

=> a = 3

The value of a is 3 .
