Solution:

tan2A = cot(A-24)

=> tan 2A = tan [ 90 - (A-24)]

/* cotA = tan(90-A) */

=> tan2A = tan(90-A+24)

=> tan2A = tan (114 - A)

Remove the tan both sides, we get

=> 2A = 114 - A

=> 2A + A = 114

=> 3A = 114

=> A = 114/3

=> A = 38

Therefore,

A = 38°
