Explanation:

To Find -

  • acceleration, when m1 and m2 are tied to a pully.

Now,

In m1 :-

 \mathsf{T -  m_{1}cos \theta_{1} = m_{1}a \: .....(i)}

And

In m2 :-

 \mathsf{m_{2}cos \theta_{2} - T  = m_{2}a \: .....(ii)}

Now,

Adding (i) and (ii), we get :-

 \mathsf{m_{2}gcos \theta_{2} -  m_{1}gcos \theta_{1} = m_{1}a +  m_{2}a}

\mathsf{m_{2}gcos \theta_{2} -  m_{1}gcos \theta_{1} =a(m_{1} + m_{2})}

Hence,

  \mathsf {a =  \dfrac{m_{2}gcos \theta_{2} -  m_{1}gcos \theta_{1} }{m_{1} + m_{2}} }
