Let The Number Be x

or 3/4x -3= 21

or 3/4x=21+3

or 3/4x=24

therefore,

x=3/4x24

x=18

hope it helps:-)

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number be 'x'

According to question,

(3/4)x+3=21

taking LCM on both sides,

3x+12=84

3x=84-12

=72

X=72/3=24

so, the number is 24.

check:

(3/4)*24+3=21

18+3=21

21=21

LHS=RHS hence verified.
