Given :-

5 is subtracted from 5 times the number, the result is 4 more than twice the number.

To Find :-

The Number

Solution :-

Let the required number be x.

According to the question,

5 times the number = 5x

Twice the number = 2x

According to the given condition,

⇒ 5x – 5 = 2x + 4

⇒ 5x – 2x = 4 + 5

⇒ 3x = 9

⇒ x = 3

Hence, The Required number is 3.
