Let the number added be 'x'.

ACCORDING TO QUESTION:

-7/3 +x= -2
-7/3 +x/1 =-2
(-7/3 + 3x)/3=-2...(Making denominator equal)
-7+3x=-2×3
-7+3x=-6
3x= -6 + 7
3x=1
x=1/3.
