Your Question:

There are two different Questions

  • Q1) Find a number which when increased by 120% becomes 77
  • Q2) Find a number which when increased by 2.5% becomes 246

Your Answers:

Answer 1:

Let the number be x

So ATQ,

\blue {\tt x+(x\times\frac{120}{100})=77}

Solving this Equation

{\tt x+(x\times\frac{120}{100})=77}\\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow x +\frac{6x}{5}=77\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow\frac{5x+6x}{5}=77\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow \frac{11x}{5}=77\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow x = 35

So the answer of 1st Question is 35

Answer 2:

Let the number be x

So ATQ,

\green {\tt x+(x\times\frac{2.5}{100})=246}

Solving this Equation

{\tt x+(x\times\frac{2.5}{100})=246}\\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow x +\frac{x}{40}=246\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow\frac{40x+x}{40}=246\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow \frac{41x}{40}=246\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow x = \frac{246\times40}{41}\\\\  \tt \Rightarrow x = 6\times 40 \\\\ \tt \Rightarrow x = 240

So, the answer of second Question is 240
