Ques. Find a pair of consecutive even integers greater than 5 whose sum is less than 23 .

Ans.→ Let the pairs be denoted by x and ( x + 2 ) since they are even as well as consecutive.

=> According to the Question :-

→ x > 5 ----------- ( Eq. 1 )

→ x + x + 2 < 23

= 2x + 2 < 23

= 2x < 21

=> x < 10.5 -----------( Eq. 2 )

Thus, from the equations we have the condition ,

→5 < x < 10.5

★ Now we need to choose only The positive as well as even consecutive integers lying in this range .

°•° The pairs are ( 6 , 8 ) , ( 8, 10 ) and ( 6 , 10 )
