3/14 is a rational number between 1/7 and 2/7

Given :  Rational numbers 1/7 and 2/7

To Find :   A rational number between 1/7 and 2/7

Solution:

Rational numbers are real numbers which can be written in the form p/q where p and q are integers and q≠0

All real numbers which are not rational  are irrationals.

Note: There exist Infinite rational numbers between any two different rational numbers.

Easiest way to find a  rational number between two rational numbers , is just to find their mean

Mean of 1/7  and  2/7

= (1/7 + 2/7)/2

= 3/14

3/14 is a  rational number between 1/7 and 2/7

Another  method :

Creating Equivalent fraction  with same denominator and Gap in numerators

create equivalent fractions :

By dividing or multiplying the numerator and denominator of a given fraction by the same number except zero

a/ b  = ak/bk      k ≠ 0

a/b  = (a/k) / (b/k)   k ≠ 0

1/7  = 2/14

2/7   = 4/14

3/14 is in between 2/14 and 3/14

1/7  = 10/70

2/7  = 20/70

11/70 , 12/70 , 13/70 and so on till 19/70  , all are between 1/7 and 2/7

3/14 is a rational number between 1/7 and 2/7
