Step-by-step explanation:

 \frac{ - 3}{4}  =  \frac{ - 2}{5}  \\   \frac{ - 3 \times 5}{4 \times 5}  =   \frac{ - 2 \times 4}{5 \times 4}  \\   \frac{ - 15}{20}  =  \frac{ - 8}{20 } \\  \frac{ - 8}{20}  \frac{ - 9}{20}  \frac{ - 10}{20}  \frac{ - 11}{20}  \frac{ - 12}{20}  \frac{ - 13}{20}  \frac{ - 14}{20 }

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Numbers are -3/4 and -2/5

To find:-

Find a rational number between -3/4 and -2/5 ?

Solution:-

Given numbers are -3/4 and -2/5

Mean Method:-

a and b are two numbers ,the rational number between them is (a+b)/2

We have, a = -3/4 and b = -2/5

Rational number between them

=>[(-3/4)+(-2/5)]/2

LCM of 4 and 5 = 20

=>[{(-3×5)+(-2×4)}/20]/2

=>[{(-15)+(-8)}/20]/2

=>[{(-15-8)/20}]/2

=>(-23/20)/2

=>-23/(20×2)

=>-23/40

Method -2:-

Given numbers are -3/4 and -2/5

On writing them into like fractions

(-3/4)×(5/5)=(-3×5)/(4×5)=-15/20

(-2/5)×(4/4)=(-2×4)/(5×4)=-8/20

The rational number between them are -9/20 ,

-10/20,-11/20,-12/20,-13/20,-14/20

Answer:-

The rational number between the given two numbers is -23/40

Used Formula:-

  • Mean Method:-
  • a and b are two numbers ,the rational number between them is (a+b)/2

  • Densitive Property:-

  • There are infinitely rational numbers between the two numbers.
