find a single discount equivalent to two successive discounts of 20% and 15 %​

let us take a number as 1000

now succesive discounts means first 20 % discount on 1000 that is 200

and then 15 % discount on 800( as 1000-200=800)

 so it is   120  

so total amount reamining after succesive discount is 680

(1000-200-120)

but now they have asked that give a single discount that brings the amount to 680

so we need to find percent of discount on the money which has been discounted

i.e. 1000-680 =320

320's percent out of 1000 is 32   (320x100/1000)

so answer is 32 percent
