Answer:a)Equivalent resistance is 10 ohm.

B)Current passing is 0.6A

C)Current passing through 30 ohm resistor is 0.2 A

For a) ,

1/Rp= 1/15+/1/30=3/30

Rp=30/3=10 ohm

For b,

Rp=10ohm

V= 6 v

I=V/R=6/10=0.6 A

For c,

R=30

V=6 v

I = V/R=6/30= 0.2 A

Answer:

a) 10 ohm

b) 0.6 amp

c)0.2 amp

Explanation:

From the fig, we can see that 15 ohm and 30 ohm are in parallel combination.

We know, for parallel combination

  • 1/R eq = 1/R1 + 1/R2

Where R eq is the equivalent resistance of R1 and R2 joined parallely.

Putting the values we get,

  • 1/R eq = 1/15 + 1/ 30

  • R eq = 15×30/45

  • R eq = 30/3

  • R eq = 10 ohm

Now,

its given V = Potential difference = 6 V

From ohm s law,

  • V = IR

Where I = current in the circuit

Putting the values we get,

  • 6 = 10I

  • I = 6/10

  • I = 3/5 amp.

  • I = 0.6 amp

Now for current through 30 ohm resistor,

We have to know potential difference accros it which is 6 V as its in parallel combination.

Again from ohms law,

  • V = I2R2

Where I2 is current passing through 30 ohm and R2 = 30 ohm

  • 6 = 30I2

  • I2 = 6/30

  • I2 = 1/5

  • I2 = 0.2 amp
