Answer:

Given:

A pulley system has been provided consisting of 3 masses and 5 strings.

To find:

T1 and T2 and acceleration of the masses.

Concept:

First draw the Free Body diagram of the masses. Then form equations and finally sold them to get the value of tension and acceleration

Calculation:

For 2 kg mass :

T2 - 2g = 2a \: ...........(1)

For 5 kg mass :

T1 - T2 = 5a \: ...........(2)

For 3 kg mass :

3g - T1 = 3a \: .........(3)

Adding the 3 equations. we get :

 \therefore \: g = 10a

a =  \dfrac{g}{10}  = 1 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Putting value of acceleration in eq (3) :

3g - T1 = (3 \times 1) \\ = > T1 = 30 - 3 \\ = > T1 = 27 \: N

Putting value of Acceleration in eq (1) :

T2 - 20 = (2 \times 1) \\ = > T2 = 20 + 2 \\ = > T2 = 22 \: N
