I) Find the length of a rectangle, if it's perimeter is 32 cm and width is 5 cm.

Given:

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 32 cm
  • Width of rectangle = 5 cm

To find:

  • Length of rectangle?

Solution: Let the Length of rectangle be l.

As we know that,

★ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) ★

Now,

➟ 2(l + 5) = 32

➟ 2l + 10 = 32

➟ 2l = 32 - 10

➟ 2l = 22

➟ l = 22/2

l = 11

•°• Length of rectangle is 11 cm.

II) Find Breadth of a rectangle, if its perimeter 80 m and length is 24 m.

Given:

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 80 m
  • Length of rectangle = 24 m

To find:

  • Breadth of rectangle?

Solution: Let Breadth of rectangle be b. And, By using same Formula,

★ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) ★

Now,

➟ 2(24+ b) = 80

➟ 48 + 2b = 80

➟ 2b = 80 - 48

➟ 2b = 32

➟ b = 32/2

➟ b = 16

•°• Breadth of rectangle is 16 m.

Given

  1. Perimeter = 32 cm, Width = 5 cm
  2. Perimeter = 80 m, Length = 24 m

To Find

  1. Length
  2. Breadth

Solution

1]

\large \bf Perimeter = 2(l + b)

32 = 2(l + 5)

32/2 = (l + 5)

16 = l + 5

16 - 5 = l

11 = l

2]

\large \bf Perimeter = 2(l + b)

80 = 2(24 + b)

80 = 48 + 2b

80 - 48 = 2b

32 = 2b

32/2 = b

16 = b
