Given
- A polynomial 2x⁴-3x³-3x²+6x-2
- If the roots of the given polynomial is √2 and -√2
To Find
- The other roots of given polynomial
Solution
- Here x-√2=0 & X+√2=0 (multiplying both)
x²-2=g(X)
Here for other roots we have to divide
g(X) in p(X)
Division procedure you can see in attachment
Quotient come = 2x²-3x+1
Now spilt the middle term
2x²-3x+1
=> 2x²-2x-x+1
=>2x(x-1)-1(x-1)
=>(2x-1) (x-1)
=>X = 1/2, 1
Hence the roots be 1/2 and 1
