Prokaryotic cells are ones without membrane bound organelles. Most notably, they do not have nuclei (nuclei means more than one nucleus). They are also smaller and much simpler than eukaryotic cells. A good example of prokaryotic cells is bacteria.
Eukaryotic cells do have membrane bound organelles, including that highly important nucleus. They are larger and much more complex than prokaryotic. Two great examples of eukaryotic cells are plant and animal cells.
