Given that ( Opposite side )² = 3 * ( Base )²
Refer the attachment for the diagram.
Let us Assume AB = Opposite side ( Height ) and BC as Base ( Shadow )
So According to the question,
AB² = 3 BC²
Taking Square root on both sides we get,
AB = BC √ 3
=> AB / BC = √ 3
In terms of language we can write it as,
Opposite / Base = √ 3
We know that,
Opposite / Base = Tan Ф
Hence Tan Ф = √ 3
We know that Tan 60° = √ 3
Hence The value of Angle of Depression is 60°.
