Given,

The fractions \dfrac{-1}{2}and\dfrac{-3}{4}.

To Find,

4 rational numbers between the given numbers.

Solution,

The fractions are:

\dfrac{-1}{2}and\dfrac{-3}{4}

→ As the denominators are different, we have to find the LCM and make the denominator same.

LCM of 2 and 4 = 4

Equivalating the denominators,

\dfrac{-2}{4},\dfrac{-3}{4}

→ We won't be able to find 4 rational numbers between these fractions as the numerators are -2 and -3. Therefore we have to expand the fractions by multiplying them with 10.

\dfrac{-2}{4}\times10=\dfrac{-20}{40}

\dfrac{-3}{4}\times10=\dfrac{-30}{40}

→ 4 rational numbers between \dfrac{-20}{40}and\dfrac{-30}{40} are :

\dfrac{-21}{40}

\dfrac{-22}{40}

\dfrac{-23}{40}

\dfrac{-24}{40}

Knowledge Bytes:

→ In order to find any number of rational numbers between any 2 given numbers, first we have to equalize the denominators. If the required number of rational numbers cannot be found between these numbers, expand them by x10 or x100 and so......
