Given :–

  • Two numbers.

To Find :–

  1. Four rational numbers between –1 and 2.
  2. Four rational numbers between –3 and –2.

Solution :–

1. –1 and 2

There are so many rational numbers between them but we take only four rational numbers between them,

⟹ 0.1, 0.2, 1.3, 1.4

 \dfrac{1}{10} ,  \dfrac{2}{10} ,  \dfrac{3}{10} ,  \dfrac{4}{10}

Now, Cancel the numbers which are able to cancel.

So here,

 \dfrac{1}{10} ,  \dfrac{ \cancel2}{\cancel{10}} ,  \dfrac{3}{10} ,  \dfrac{\cancel4}{\cancel{10}}

So, the four rational numbers between them are:–

1.  \dfrac{1}{10}

2.  \dfrac{1}{5}

3.  \dfrac{3}{10}

4.  \dfrac{2}{5}

2. –3 and –2

There are so many rational numbers between them but we take only four rational numbers between them,

⟹ –2.9, –2.7, –2.5, –2.2

 \dfrac{-29}{10} ,  \dfrac{-27}{10} ,  \dfrac{-25}{10} ,  \dfrac{-22}{10}

Now, Cancel the numbers which are able to cancel.

So here,

 \dfrac{-29}{10} ,  \dfrac{ -27}{10} ,  \dfrac{\cancel{-25}}{\cancel{10}} ,  \dfrac{\cancel{-22}}{\cancel{10}}

So, the four rational numbers between them are:–

1.  \dfrac{-29}{10}

2.  \dfrac{-27}{10}

3.  \dfrac{-5}{2}

4.  \dfrac{-11}{2}
