Finding 3rd side of the triangle

5 + 5 +x = 18

x= 8 cm

by Pythagoras

x/2 = 4 cm

5 x 5 - 4 x 4 = side^2

25 - 16 =9

side = 3 cm

area of right angle triangle

\frac{1}{2} x B X H

\frac{1}{2} x 4 x 3

Area of right angle triangle = 6 cm^2

Area of 2 right angle triangle is

6 x 2 = 12 cm^2

Area of isosceles triangle = 12 cm^2
