Hey friend, Here is your answer-
Let the triangle be ABC.
Therefore Seg AB=BC=AC=12cm
Let seg AM is perpendicular to seg BC of the triangle.
Therefore BM = 1/2×BC
BM=6 cm

By using Appollonious theorem,
AB2+AC2 = 2×AM2 + 2× BM2
(12 )2 +(12)2 =2×AM2 + 2× (6)2
288 = 2×AM2 + 72
216 = 2×AM2
AM2 =216/2
AM2 = 108
AM= 6 ROOT 3
Therefore height of an equilateral triangle is 6 root 3 cm.

Area of equilateral triangle = root 3 /4 ×side2
=36 root 3 cm2.
Hope it will help you friend.
