find area of a shaded region .here abcd is 4cm

Area of square is 4•4=16
Circle is having a diameter of 4cm
Area of circle is 4pir=8pi
Area of shaded region is 16-8pi

side of square = 14 cm
area of square = side ^2
                       = 14^2 = 196 cm ^2
radius of circle = 7 cm
area of circle =  π r^2
                     = 22/7* 7*7
                      = 154 cm^2
AREA OF SHADED REGION = AREA OF SQUARE - AREA OF CIRCLE
                                                 = 196- 154 
                                                 = 42 cm ^2
