Before, finding the answer. Let's find out on how we can find the answer.

  • For finding the Area of the Square, we have to first find the side.
  • Here, perimeter is given. So, we have to divide the Perimeter and the number of sides to find the length of side.
  • After we find the length of side, we have to find the Area. To find that, we must use formula of :

\boxed{ \sf Area \: of \: Square = side \times side}

Where, we have to multiply the side with the side.

Given :

  • Perimeter = 12 cm

To find :

  • area of square

Solution :

No of sides in a Square = 4

Perimeter = 12 cm

Side = Perimeter ÷ no of sides

        = 12 ÷ 4 cm

        = 3 cm

∴ Side of Square is 3 cm.

Now,

Area of Square = side × side

                          = 3 × 3 cm²

                          = 9 cm²

∴ Area of Square is 9 cm².
