given dimensions of the box = 12cm (length) × 10cm (breadth) × 8cm (height)

since it's a closed box, we have to find it's TSA.

TSA of the box = 2 ( lb + lh + bh )

= 2 ( 12 × 10 + 12 × 8 + 10 × 8 )

= 2 ( 120 + 96 + 80 )

= 2 × 296

= 592cm²

hence, 592cm² of cardboard is required to make the closed box.

• In the given question information given about a piece of cardboard which was folded and make a cuboid closed box whose dimension is given.

• We have to find T.S.A of Cuboid.

 \underline \bold{Given : }   \\  \implies Length = 12 \: cm \\  \implies Breadth = 10 \: cm \\  \implies Height = 8 \: cm \\  \\  \underline  \bold{to \: find : } \\  \implies T.S.A \: of \: Cuboid = ?

• We know the formula for finding Total surface area of cuboid.

 \implies T.S.A  \:of \: Cuboid= 2(lb + bh + hl) \\  \implies T.S.A = 2(12 \times 10 + 10 \times 8 + 8 \times 12) \\  \implies T.S.A = 2(120 + 80 + 96) \\  \implies T.S.A = 2(296) \\   \bold{\implies T.S.A = 592{cm}^{2} }
