Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

  • Figure

To Find -

  • Area of given figure

As we know that :-

  • Area of rectangle = l × b
  • Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of two sides) × height

Now,

Area of rectangle CDEF is

→ 50 × 10

→ 500 cm²

And

Area of trapezium ABCD is

→ 1/2 × (10 + 30) × 10

→ 40 × 5

→ 200 cm²

Area of trapezium ABCD = Area of trapezium EFGH = 200 cm² [ bcoz both trapezium are equal ]

Now,

Area of figure = area of rectangle CDEF + area of trapezium ABCD + area of trapezium EFGH

→ Area of figure = 500 + 200 + 200

→ 900 cm²

Hence,

The Area of given figure is 900 cm².

Answer: First we can split this image into 1 rectangle and 2 trapeziums.

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

= 50cm× 10cm

= 500cm^2

Next , we find the area of trapezium.

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × sum of parallel sides × distance between them.

= 1/2 × 10 + 10 × 30

= 1/2 × 20 × 30

= 10× 30

= 300 cm^2

We need to find area for 2 trapeziums

= 300 × 2 = 600 cm^2

If we add all areas,

= 500 + 600

Area of the given diagram = 1100 cm^2

Hope it helps
