FORMULA TO BE IMPLEMENTED

Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

TO DETERMINE

The area of quadrilateral formed by lines x = 1 , x = 4,

y = 3 and y = - 5

FIGURE : Figure is refer to the attachment

The area of the shaded region is to be calculated

CALCULATION

Here the figure is rectangular shaped

Length = AD

= Distance between the lines y = 3 and y = - 5

= 3 - (-5) unit

= 8 unit

Breadth = AB

= Distance between the lines x = 1 & x = 4

= ( 4 - 1 ) unit

= 3 unit

Hence the required area

= Length × Breadth

= ( 8 × 3 ) sq unit

= 24 sq unit

Answer:

Hope it helps you...☺

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to mark x=1 &4 on both sides and y=3 one

side and y= -5 on another side and join lines..It forms a Quadrilateral

Area of qualidratel = Length×Breadth

= 3-(-5)×4-1

=8×3

=24 sq units
