find area of rectangular plot whose side is 48m and diagonal is50m

This is the solution of your query.......

Given :-

Length of one side = 48 m.
and, the length of diagonal = 50 m.

If we think of a rectangle,,,,,,,

It forms a triangle of 90° by one diagonal, length and breadth.
Length of diagonal and one side is given .....

So, we will use Pythagoras theorem :---

Diagonal ² = Length² + Breadth ².
50² = 48 ² + Breadth²
Breadth² = 50² - 48²
Breadth² = 2500 - 2304
Breadth² = 196
Breadth= 14 m.

Hence, the breadth of rectangle is 14 m.

Now, using rectangle formula.....

Area = Length × Breadth
= 48 × 14
= 672 m²

Hence, the area of rectangle is 672 m².

let the two adjacent sides of the rectangle be -

breadth = b m

length of the plot = 48 m

now

diagonal,d = 50m

d^2 = 50 x 50

48^2 + b^2 = 2500

2304 + b^2 = 2500

b^2 = 2500-2304

b^2 = 196

b = 14

area of the plot = 48 x 14 = 672 m^2
