in figure 4 semi circle divide the diameter equally so diameter of small semicicle = 4/4 = 1cm

radius of small semi circle= 1/2 = 0.5cm

semi circle area = πr^2/2

Area of shaded region = Area of large semi circle + 4* area of small semi circle

Shaded area = π4^2/2 + 4* (π*1^2)/2

Shaded area = 8π + 2π

shaded area = 10π

shaded area = 34.1
