the solution is based on that the figure consists of semicircle

ac to figure,

the semicircle has a diameter of 14 cm

area of the semicircle with a radius 14/2 = 7 cm

= 1/2×pie×r^2

=1/2×3.14×

= 307.72cm^2 ----1

since there is two semicircle in the big semicircle, so that is equal to a circle with the same radius.

the radius of the semicircle inside the big one= 7 cm

area ......... = pie ×r^2

= 3.14×49

=153.86 cm^2 ------2

here I am assuming that the shaded region is the left by the two semicircle because you didn't shaded any region

the shaded regio =. eq. 1 - 2

= 307.72 - 153.86

= 153.86 cm^2
