Side of square =4cm
Area of square =a²
=4²=16cm²
r=4/2=2cm
Area of circle =pi r²
=(22x4)/7=12.57cm²
Shaded area =16-12.57=3.43cm²

here given length of square side=4cm

and circle diameter is 4 cm

shaded region=area of square-area of cicl

=l²-πr²

=4²-(22/7)(2)²

=16-88/7

=(112-88)/7

=24/7 cm²

=3.428 cm²
