Area of the Middle Horizontal Rectangle = length*breadth

= 80*6

= 480 units^2.

Area of Middle Vertical Rectangle = length*breadth

= 10*40

= 400 units^2.

we also have to minus the area of the Rectangle in the middle of the figure as it's area has been accounted for 2 times.

Area of Middle Small Rectangle = length*breadth

= 10*6

= 60 units^2.

Now for the total area, we add areas of both rectangles and minus the area of the smaller rectangle.

Therefore, (480+400)-60

= 880-60

= 820 units^2.

Therefore, the area of the shaded part is 820 units^2.
