there is a square ABCE & right angle triangle ECD

so area of given figure is...

area of ABCE + area of ECD

now area of ABCE

= 8 × 8

= 64

now area of ECD

= (1/2) × (5 × 5)

= 25/2

= 12.5

So total area is...

64 + 12.5

= 76.5

here we use,

formula of square = multiplication of any two sides

and

formula of right angle triangle = (1/2)×(multiplication of two sides which sides makes right angle)

Answer:

ஃ The total area of the figure = 84 m

Step-by-step explanation:

i) The area of square ABCE = S × S = 8 m × 8 m = 64 m

ii) The area of triangle DCE = ½ × B × H

 \sf \frac{1}{2} \times 8 \: m \times 5 \: m = \frac{1}{2} \times 40 = 20 \: m

Total area of the figure = 64 m + 20 m = 84 m
